Theory of Constraints, Critical Chain Project Management, Lean : industry consulting & training - Marris Consulting
Florent Bonne, Factory Manufacturing Manager at the SKF site in Valenciennes, explains how the application of the Theory of Constraints can improve the industrial performance of a factory.
The SKF Valenciennes teams used this method to align the factory's production capacity with customer demand and thus improve productivity.
This made it possible to introduce notions of flow and a culture of continuous improvement.
As improvements were made, the bottleneck of the plant shifted. With the introduction of DBR to control flows, the crossing time has been significantly reduced: the lead time has been halved. By working on constraints, the end-of-month phenomenon has disappeared.
Implemented for around ten years now on this site, this approach has made it possible to increase the output flow by approximately 50% and increase the overall productivity of the factory by 30%.

To enhance your expertise, Marris Consulting organizes training sessions on Theory Of Constraints applied to production and projects environments
Marris Consulting is an expert in the Theory of Constraints (ToC) and Critical Chain Project Management (CCPM). As industry consultants, we are focused on helping process and manufacturing industries reach their highest levels of performance by using Constraints Management combined with Lean and Six Sigma. We also use Critical Chain Project Management which we sometimes combine with Lean engineering to improve project performance. If you are unsure about the actions which need to be implemented to improve operational efficiency, our industrial management consultants can also conduct a performance audit. Furthermore, our experts host numerous Theory of Constraints (ToC), lean and project management training sessions throughout the year.
