How does Constraint Management impact technical strategy?
Strategy includes plans to deploy resources and direct activities to achieve a goal within a specified timeframe using finite resources. As important as strategic plans are, however, execution ultimately determines the outcome. That is, strong execution can salvage a weak plan, but weak execution endangers even a strong plan.
These observations are true for technical strategy as well as a business strategy. Indeed, misalignment between technical and business strategies is a leading cause of troubled projects.
