In the past, we have had the opportunity to organize a 6-day workshop led by William (Bill) Dettmer, the international expert on the Logical Thinking Process (LTP).

We are pleased to announce that we will organize the 6-day LTP workshop in June 2024 in Paris. This time, it will be led by the LTP expert and Bill Dettmer's partner, Thorsteinn Siglaugsson.

In recent years, Thorsteinn SIGLAUGSSON has conducted several training sessions and coaching sessions alongside Bill.

 


Six-Day Training Led by Thorsteinn Siglaugsson

LEARNING METHODS :

  • Presentations

  • Self-Study (reading material sent in advance)

  • Instructor supervised-workshop

  • Participants will work hands-on their own cases, individually, in pairs or groups with support of the trainer

  • Role swapping presenter / reviewer

  • Duration: 6 days with a two-day weekend break. 

  • Dates: from June 5th to June 12th, 2024

Learning objectives :

By the end of this training course, participants will be able to:

·        Be self-sufficient to read, construct and review Goal Trees, Current Reality Trees, Conflict Resolution Diagrams (Evaporating Clouds), Future Reality Trees and Prerequisite Trees

·        Surface and identify root causes of complex problems and build robust solutions to solve them

·        Assess and mitigate the risks of the proposed solutions

·        Apprehend the difficulties about change and settle conflicting objectives

·        Identify and overcome possible obstacles

·        Build a straightforward plan for change and present an executive summary

Workshop Agenda: 

 

Day One

  •  Introduction.
  •  Logical Thinking Tools overview.
  •  Goal Tree: how to establish benchmarks. Participants construct their own Goal Trees.
  •  Categories of Legitimate Reservation, the logical guidelines of the process.

Day Two

  • Current Reality Tree: Compare the “as is” situation against the "to be" situation represented by Goal Tree.
  • Evaporating Cloud (Conflict Resolution Diagram).

Day Three

  • Evaporating Cloud (Conflict Resolution Diagram).

Week-end

  • Week-end break.
  • The week-end in between is purposely set to give participant a rest as well as time to reflect and transpose their learning in their own case.

Day Four

  • Future Reality Tree and Negative Branches: Closing the gap between current situation and desired situation and mitigating risks.

Day Five

  • Prerequisite Tree: how to overcome obstacles to moving from Current to Future
  • Reality with concrete actions.

Day Six

  • Change management.
  • How to build Executive Summary Trees.
  • How to use artificial intelligence to assist with building and scrutinizing logic trees.
  • The Logical Thinking Process and systems complexity.

SIGLAUGSSON Thorsteinn

Thorsteinn Siglaugsson is a certified expert in the Logical Thinking Process and holds an MBA from INSEAD and a BA in philosophy.

Thorsteinn has over 25 years of experience in consulting, training and software development. He works alongside Bill Dettmer, the creator of the Logical Thinking Process, providing training and coaching in the process. Thorsteinn is the author of From Symptoms to Causes: Applying the Logical Thinking Process to an Everyday Problem (2020). Recently, he has focused on the application of artificial intelligence to improve and speed up Logical Thinking Process analysis.
