A brief 4-minute summary of how one applies the Drum-Buffer-Rope in a production environment. This method consists in launching the manufacturing orders according to the pace of a bottleneck, while at the same time launching them soon enough to ensure the parts arrive in advance in a queue feeding this same bottleneck. Such a controlled queue is called a buffer which protects the bottleneck from upstream variability.
