Vicky Mabin shares her Theory of Constraints journey
It all began in 1986 when she read "The Goal" by Eliyahu Goldratt. She could see that a lot of what was in "The Goal" was undoing, or negating, what she had learned in operations research. She applied it in a company called Expoze International in New Zealand, and it had a massive effect, completely turning them around.
Since then, she has been using it in her consulting work. Then, from 1991, she entered the university system, teaching at the Victoria University of Wellington in New Zealand. During that time, she learned the Thinking Processes, applied them, and conducted bibliographic surveys, exploring what had been published on Theory Of Constraints (TOC). She was co-author of "The World of the Theory of Constraints", which is a compilation of results obtained by 82 companies worldwide.
