Theory of Constraints, Critical Chain Project Management, Lean : industry consulting & training - Marris Consulting
Our client, a multinational company that develops and produces new drugs, wanted to accelerate the introduction phase in their new product development projects.
Dedicated production slots for projects are anticipated and scheduled well in advance, thus even slight delays in projects lead to disorganized planning, as the same production lines are used not only for serial production, but also for other projects.
Because of the rush in which they regularly find themselves, project teams often finish projects with difficulty, sometimes compromising on document quality.
Objectives
Enhancing management routines (project and portfolio).
Modification of the routines: from routines to report delays to routines to anticipate upcoming activities, in particular to ensure the full-kit before handover, and to work on buffer recovery solutions.
A larger-scale deployment of the Critical Chain method across NPI portfolio and the other project portfolios.
